Terms of service

1.The service

Kowiste is a platform to connect devices, store and display their readings, and automate what happens when they cross limits. It is offered to businesses: in our cloud, on a dedicated instance, or on your own servers.

We may change, add or remove features. Features marked as a preview may change or stop without notice.

2.Accounts

Keep your credentials and API keys secret, and tell us at once if you think one has been misused. Organization administrators decide who has access and with which permissions, and are responsible for what their users do.

3.Acceptable use

Don't use Kowiste to:

• break the law or anyone's rights;
• try to reach other organizations' data, test our security without our written permission, or disrupt the service;
• send unsolicited messages through notifications or webhooks;
• resell access, unless an agreement with us allows it.

4.Your data

You own the data you and your devices put in Kowiste. You allow us to process it only to provide the service. We handle the personal data in it as your processor, as described in our privacy policy and in the data processing terms of our agreement.

You can export your data while your account is active. When it ends, we delete it after a reasonable period, unless the law requires us to keep it.

5.Automation and equipment

Policies, triggers and actions can notify people and send commands to your devices. You decide how they are set up, and you are responsible for testing them.

Kowiste is not a safety system. Don't rely on it as the only protection for people, equipment or goods; keep your own safety controls and alarms in place.

6.Plans and fees

Plans, limits and prices are agreed with you in writing. When you reach a limit, creating new items stops; editing and deleting keep working.

7.Availability and support

We work to keep the platform available and to fix problems quickly, but we don't guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or free of errors, unless your agreement says otherwise.

8.Liability

The service is provided as it is. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses — such as lost profits, lost production or lost data — and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited.

9.Ending

You can stop using Kowiste at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, after warning you where we can.

10.Law and disputes

These terms are governed by Spanish law. Disputes go to the courts of Spain, unless the law gives you the right to another court.

11.Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top, and tell account holders by email before a change that matters takes effect.
